Caramel Spice Hot Chocolate

Happy Fall!! It’s that time of year to start breaking out the hot chocolate and warm Apple Cider so I decided this would be the best time to re-launch Courtney’s Cocoa Corner! *cue party horns* (We lost a bunch of posts when we relaunched our website last year)

If you aren’t familiar with Courtney’s Cocoa it is a rich, decadent drinking chocolate that you make using pure, dark chocolate pieces. It comes in Chocolate Bliss (original) and Peppermint. Here at Courtney’s Cocoa Corner, I’ll share with you fun recipes using Courtney’s Cocoa and other fun things we carry at Fantasy Candies!

I’m starting it off the best way I know how, short and sweet. And by sweet, I mean sweeet. We all know that pumpkin spice is the go-to fall flavor so I challenged myself to take my first fall flavor down a different route. (Don’t worry, that’ll be coming too)

This Caramel Spice drinking chocolate is BOMB! The perfect combination of sweet with a bit of spice.

You’ll Need:

The Recipe:

  1. Make Courtney’s Cocoa according to directions using 1-2 fewer disks than normal.
  2. When adding the chocolate to the pan on the stove, also add 2 wrapped caramels.
  3. While caramel and chocolate melt add ¼ tsp of nutmeg to your mix.
  4. Serve once caramels and chocolate have fully dissolved. 
  5. Enjoy!


  1. Add 1-2 fewer chocolate pieces so that it isn’t too sweet.
  2. Use your spoon to mash the caramels a bit so they melt quicker.
